The Historicity of Jesus’ Resurrection and Pagan Myth

I’m unaware of any ‘resurrection’ story in antiquity that mirrors Jesus’.  However, I’ve heard it argued (though not by anyone with any sense) that “dying and rising gods” in antiquity prove that Jesus’ resurrection is a myth. But, even if it were true that there are stories which parallel Jesus’, isn’t this like saying that Washington could never have crossed the Delaware because Caesar had crossed the Rubicon?

  1. It’s exactly like saying that. And it’s the same as saying that Jesus couldn’t be God because other figures in Jewish literature received worship (nevermind that they only received it in literature and never in real life!).
